Hiatus

Lent has arrived and is in full swing.  I am not Catholic (or anything even resembling it) but I like to participate in the giving up of something you like.  Many ask me why.  Well, because I can.  It is about willpower and I just like to see if I can do it.

This year I have given up fast food and refined sugar.  Once Easter rolls around, the baking will recommence as will the blogging

Hazelnut Cupcakes - you (should) complete me

Over the course of one week, I have made hazelnut cupcakes.  These little cakes took so long because I just didnt feel like being in my little kitchen... plus it was full of dirty dishes I didnt want to wash.
On Tuesday, I blended up some chocolate mousse.  It was similar to the chocolate tofu pie filling I make only instead of Kahlua I used Frangelico. This process contributed some larger sized dirty dishes to the pile on the counter.
Finally on Sunday morning I mixed up some batter and baked the suckers.  They made the apartment smell like maple syrup.  It made me want pancakes, but looking at my even bigger pile of dirty dishes, I decided to just eat an orange and some almonds.
While the cupcakes were cooling, I filled a ziplock bag with the chocolate mousse and snipped off a corner.  I took a peice of the center out of one cupcake, filled it with mousse and topped it with some whole hazelnuts.  I took it into the box office for Lisa to try then I walked away from the whole project and ran lights for Amadeus.
There was a birthday dinner for a friend of mine after the show, so I went to that.  I got home about 10pm and watched an episode of Roseanne on Netflix.  Now I was relaxed and just about ready to go to bed so I put the 11 unfinished cupcakes in some tupperware and went to bed.
Now those dear little procrastination cakes are sitting on top of my fridge, waiting for me to fill and frost them.  I wonder when I will get to them?
